No, they rely on poor consumers to go into unauthorised overdraft and sting them with crazy charges that would be far more than a fiver a month.

Anyway we are talking about business accounts here.

Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

      I preferred version 1!

The amount of interest they would give you would likely equal the annual sum of what they charged you in for having a current account.

And you would make a loss on it as you have to pay CT on it.

BTW still haven't received a letter from HSBC saying they are going to charge me and they are still advertising the account as no monthly charge.

          It pays fook all.

I was laughing at the fact that you expect banks to pay any decent interest - they won't so long as Bank of England prints cheap money.

I think he means compared to personal accounts - most business accounts pay no interest at all, and I think that's regardless of the interest rate being so low... or is it?

Do you think there would be a market for a specialised small business bank? Or is the sector to risky to be the sole focus of an institution?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I believe RBS provide free business banking via their 'Business Banking Direct' service.

Naturally you pay for overdrafts, stopped cheques, duplicate statements and other similar 'extra' services, but if all you require is a simple day-to-day online banking facility and don't require a business account manager, you won't pay any charges or fees.
