          Denver has always had issues with hail storms - it's one of the worst places in the world for them. Every year, they expect at least four which cause over $25 million in insured damages.

          In today's money, the worst one did over $1 billion in damages.

            We used to get some big ones in Munich. I got caught out in one once and ended up with a lovely welt on my head and a completely ruined pair of waterproof shoes after they filled up with the rainwater that was running down my legs.
