Actually my daughter punched several shades of tulip out of another girl last week. This girl had been making her life hell for several years, through two schools and despite countless sessions with teachers listening to their bulltulip about recovery plans and not tolerating bullying etc. In the end the little tulip got a hard smack in the mouth and a black eye together with a load more crap from her parents.

Words are not a soft option. They hurt and can leave more scars than the dental work my daughter inflicted. What did this lesson teach my daughter? People that use mental aggravation as a weapon get away with it until you raise the price of their fun to something that is tangible.

It's completely understandable and good on her for standing up for herself. I had the whole lot from prefects at one of those high-falutin' top quality education 'make your child a confident person' British boarding schools. Physical violence, constant verbal abuse, repeated threats of sexual violence and eventually I was even threatened with a gun; the teachers knew about it all and did nothing. Anyway eventually I snapped and beat the living tulipe out of one of them. Literally beat the tulipe out of him, he lay on the ground with cack dripping out of his pants and blood dripping from his ears. I was expelled. Apparently he was permanently damaged, and while I have occasional moments that I wish I hadn't gone that far, I can't really feel guilty about it. It shouldn't have been allowed to reach that stage. Bullying destroys people's lives and unfortunately too many adults, especially it seems, those people who are employed to look after kids, are too spineless or stupid to do anything about it. His life was screwed up, not mine thankfully.
