But I see that you have already seen all you have to know about Poland and its citizens watching the TV adds leading to Euro 2012.

If UKIP are the answer, then it must have been a very stupid question.

I don't know where in the country you are but where I live and grew up there were people who spoke French as a second language. Their families didn't come from France either.

        Yeah right.

I've been surrounded by the Polish dispora since I went to infant school.

I went to school in the 1970s with lots of children who were second-generation Polish (and Italian, come to that). Certain areas of the country had large communities of that ilk after the Second World War, who settled where there were industries in need of workers - in this case, the brickfields of Bedfordshire. So there are plenty of people who were born and raised in Britain but who can speak Polish. Just not in the tiny bit of the world you mistake for the whole because you sit in the middle of it, myopic, self-absorbed, and really quite alone.

Do you assume that all jobs that require a good knowledge of French are only given to French people?
If you look at the advert, this is unskilled factory work. There's no reference to any reason why those who don't speak Polish are not capable of doing factory work. This is a clear case of recruiter not wanting to mess with anybody else.

And to be honest with you, I wouldn't have any problem with this concept, because this saves the local youth a lot of time and disappointments. But as we live in a p.c. mad society, the rules must be applied to everybody.

You do come across as a bit of a silly cock.
You're only a Pole you know, just another immigrant - do you do bathrooms, BTW?

Fail. Nguyen is a Vietnamese name - and the most common Vietnamese surname. Here are the most common Korean names.

Yes - this oncologist studied in Poland.

                    Certainly is over here.

I did notice a certain shift in job adverts from "must speak Dutch" to "Native Dutch speakers required" especially when the economy went tits up after the government collapsed.

Well need to look up an article I read the other day where here in Germany they're going the other way, encouraging English to be spoken amongst business groups.
