agree with others, get many people in to quote as they vary wildly...

last year, got wall to wall, floor to ceiling bedroom cupboards custom made for 3 double bedrooms from a local company for £3k

Lots of Mirrors in the doors and went for the gloss look with chrome handles...wasnt the lowest quote but gave the best options (highest quotes we got was £17k )

Have you looked at heals, john lewis (do stuff from neptune.com), chris sharpe cabinets and so on?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

        Sorted.
We're still using (much to the wife's annoyance) a large coffee table an ex-employer sold off when updating their office furniture. £5 and as sturdy as anything, and come to think of it that was over 6 years ago now

Find a local chippy, there's loads round our way (not sure about the cultural wasteland of the northwest).

We had two cabinets with floating shelves above made from sturdy mdf fitted into the alcoves by the fireplace.

Cost was about £1500. Then we paid a firm to paint it all - that was about £500.

Can't tell the difference between the mdf and wood when it's painted well.

Get some Poles to do it for you.
Custom made bookshelves installed into alcoves and painted white = £1000 labour plus cost of wood.
Even cheaper if you use MDF but wouldn't recommend that.
I'm sure they could do a TV cabinet or anything similar.
              Hard Brexit now!

Whyever not? If properly prepared the finished product won't look any different.
