Book something for the first week, get a local sim and then contact the local agents.
Best places I found were from other contractors on site.
In Germany unfurnished apartment don't even have kitchens. Expect to pay double the rent for furnished.
And summert like three months rent up front plus a month and three quarters to the agent. In Germany the tenant pays the agent, not gonna be worth it for a three monther...

I just thought I´d point that out.
The agency assures me this does not apply to renting a room, ie a sublet.
