          The Thing (original is good but John Carpenter remake is better)
          The Exorcist

          For actual horror - The Last King of Scotland (horrible as a lot of that actually happened).

                  If you can be tempted to a book then The Exorcist book is quite scary?

                  I also love The Exorcism of Emily Rose although I might not describe it as scary.
                  Orphan and We have to talk about Kevin are scary but maybe only if you have kids or are particularly maternal/paternal?
