      Well even the writers of today don't use modern language except in dialog. And that's always the case... people in books speak in the language of their time but the prose generally doesn't.

        Well even the writers of today don't use modern language except in dialog. And that's always the case... people in books speak in the language of their time but the prose generally doesn't.
