So if 500k extra people suddenly arrive en masse in the UK - do they all have instant access to NHS treatment?
And don't forget a significant amount of them want to bring their families over as well. So make that around 1,000,000+

House price increases and water shortages here we come.

but, what we havent mentioned is that Figures from the Office for National Statistics show that 359,500 people migrated from Britain to other countries in 2004. Probably on account of all that "move to the sun" b0llox that gets on tv.

So its pretty clear, what with our dismall birth rate and all, that this country NEEDS imigrants. Its just a question of where you want them to come from. Traditionaly the biggest source of imigrants to the UK has been Ireland. Now, I dont know about you, but I would rather live next door to a Polski than a Paddy any day of the week. In a household emergency, plumbing is a much more useful skill than being able to tarmac my drive.

Thats as may be, but question being should they be able to claim family allowance from the government for non existent children? I say No.

Bigotted anti-irish guff The Irish no longer come to the UK in droves because England is now poorer than Eire, why would they want to come to a country with a pi$$poor quality of life

Perhaps next year you will get the opportunity to live next door to a Roma family once Romanians can come here to work (and get benefits) with no questions asked

Are you in favour of means testing these hard working people instead of self certifying? Why should people from other countries have to jump through more hoops than equally hard working families here, it is, after all, only fair.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

I'm not talking about making anyone jump through more hoops than anyone else, I'm talking about changing the system so that it is not exploited. No-one should be able to get child allowance money from the government for children they don't have. Surely noone is going to disagree with me about this!?!?
