Stop whinging, pull your finger out and take note of the advice you've just been given.

MF is right (ugh, did I just say that!) Tailor your CV to the role you are applying for. Blag it a bit if you have to - if you can do the work and know all you have to do is get past the first "sifting" hurdle then blag it a bit to get you there.

And, chin up. Stop bricking it, agents can smell desperation and as you already smell of wee (or so the others say!) you don't need that too.

        Nope, still don't geddit, sorry.

Please specifically address how to "blag" years of experience in an industry I don't have?

Lets be really specific. How do I blag a BA role in an investment bank, that needs, lets see now, I know, experience of back office and trade legs?

Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

You exude the wrong attitude to be a successful contractor.

Oh for the love of God, there have been 3 pages of advice here and you just don't want to listen. Being a BA regardless of the industry should be a starting point, expand on your experience for a kick off and how it can be relevant.

Finishing your post with makes me think you are having a really bad 'Poor Me' day.

Maybe come back and read it all again tomorrow.

You don't. You can't make up stuff you don't know, you'll get busted in no time.

I think what people are talking about when they say blagging is embellishing what's already on your CV to emphasise the parts that relate to the role you're going for. Expand certain aspects of previous gigs to change the weighting so a half dev/ half BA contract becomes more like 25%/75% in favour of the desired skill.

And investment banks aren't the only companies hiring at the moment. They may be the only ones paying a rate you're prepared to work for, but that's a separate issue.

It's not though. Why won't you just listen for a second? You are the one telling me I am being given good advice and how I should be listening? Yet I am the one who is consistently being knocked back for roles because I don't have the relevant industry experience.

How do I counter that? "But but but I have lots of experience relevant to the role, I've done this role countless times at xyz company" just doesn't cut it. Unless you have an RBS/London markets/PPI/Cards/Payments/Whatever the lofty skill I don't have is I am getting nowhere.

For the sake of the peace I will say thanks for all the advice, you've been a big help I will mull it all over.

If of course anyone has a bright idea how to stop getting knocked back, and this pertains to how to "blag" experience I don't have to pass the first sift then I would be most keen to hear it.
