A long sentence of community service would be more appropriate.

Not my lot, but there is a slight difference, they went down, she didn't. I'm more:

Yep. When was the last time anyone had an original idea though?

              No one got hurt.

Two adults brought their marital squabbles into the public domain, and, in doing so, cost you and I, the taxpayers, a small fortune. I've just paid my corp tax, which won't even cover a fraction of the cost of it all. Now we're going to pay to keep the pair of them locked up. IMO, better to get them to pay the costs, a fine on top, and pull shopping trolleys out the local canal at weekends or some other such useful activity. And ban them both from driving for a couple of years for good measure.

I bet 1000s of people 'take points' to avoid their partner getting a ban. It's the prolonged court case and the cost of it all that's the real crime.

Not sure if this is already bought up in the thread, but my take is not just on sentences being daft for these sorts of petty crimes compared to other crimes where folk get off almost Scot free, but more along the lines of, serves the spiteful cow right!

Whatever the rights and wrongs of Chris H's affair with his bit of stuff, his ex-wife launched an all out assault to destroy his career and his life, because she was a woman scorned! I think justice was served

I don't condone the actions of Chris H, and neither do I condone the points fiddle (not the first or last to do it though eh!), but I think the vicious way she tried to ruin her ex-husband was inexcusable and she has reaped what she has sown.

Nodric <--- Guess who had a messy divorce LOL

For which you can blame the scorned female who by putting it in the public domain left everyone with no choice but to put it through the courts.

It does look like the courts have charged them costs of £150,000 or so. Its a shame we don't charge them £3000 a week for prison as well.

But if you needed help from the community service programme would you let these people anywhere near you?

OK. You don't need help, but would you let these people loose on infirm parents?

                    I don't think so.

I don't think they let crims loose on vulnerable people. Erecting fences, clearing canals, removing graffiti is more the order of the day.
