We've all seen the posts about the nightmare gigs but what about the great ClientCo's you've worked with?
I've been doing this for decades so been with the worst and the best and everything in between but one does stand out.
Got a six monther with a US media company based in Maine in the US, all expenses covered including a hire car, hotel, flights home if needed and a great rate. The culture was typically US, lots of enthusiasm not just for the work we did but a drive to make the company successful and perhaps the most friendly place I've seen. At any meetings we had pizza would be delivered so we could indulge as we discussed whatever was on the agenda. Friday afternoons we had a barbecue in the parking lot outside the office which gave us the chance to network with people from other departments that we wouldn't normally meet which helped build bonds and get tasks done more efficiently. If anyone in the department had a birthday we finished work two hours early that day to have cake and ice cream.
Senior management had an open door policy and anything could be discussed and would occasionally have the department with partners and kids over to their house at weekends for barbecues no expense spared - forty live lobsters ready to be cooked, kegs of draft beer and so on.
An amazing place to work but no surprise they went bust with huge debts although to be honest it was more their flawed business model rather than the culture.
What's been your best gig, named ClientCo or not?
