Same all over western Europe. The only people who'll sell you something to eat in NL after the pubs close are Moroccans and Turks. The only people who'll plant or pick asparagus are eastern Europeans. The people who clean hotel rooms and some smart houses are often Africans. Nobody knows who's going to do all the nursing in the future when the baby boomers' brains go senile, but it won't be locals given the current wages.

Yes, I think its the only fair way. Why should someone who takes £15 a year in benefits, have the same say in how the country is run as someone who pays £30k a year in tax?

Better still we just charge far less tax. So people can just spend their proportion on what they want anyway.

Well if tax was low then they wouldn't be able to do that.

Though if you mean the constitutional arrangement. Ideally we'd have a constutition that said the only legitimate forms of spending is on ensuring the negatives rights of the population ie justice, defense, police. And maybe some positive rights for children, education etc or the genuinely disadvantaged (down syndromes, people in wheelchairs, sasguru etc).
