Set of cheap alloys from a breakers/eBay/alloy wheel shop with winter tyres fitted and balanced.
Put them on when daytime temperatures are below 10 deg C (i.e. November through to March). They work in all weather conditions better than summer tyres as long as it's cold.
Your car will brake better than a 4x4 with summer tyres on.
But then if you fancy a different car get the 4x4 and a set of winter tyres as above.Comment

Point to bear in mind with any 4 x 4 driven car is, you need to replace all 4 tyres at the same time and not just one or two on the same axle. This is because the different circumference between old \ worn tyres on one axle compared to the new ones on the other axle can serious damage the drive system as it tries to compensate for one set of wheels always turning faster or slower than the other.
And on something like a Q5, you could be looking at the thick end of 1600 quid. Happy motoringI couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!Comment
