Well said Frank Field
Frank Field is one of the very, very few Labour MP's I've been happy to listen to in the past.
I believe he's got the pulse here. Far too many politicians are under-estimating the depth of concern the electorate have over current levels of immigration.
Michael Portillo (one half of itchy & scratchy) typified this during the most recent local elections night. Asked to comment on the surge of new BNP support he said, "There is no excuse, no excuse, for voting for a racist party".
Well. To Mr. Portillo whom I normally respect I say, "There is no excuse, no excuse, for any politician to complain the way people vote when the political status quo belittles, ignores & pays lip service to such real concerns of voters".
To those politicians who don't like people (many or most of whom are not remotely racist) voting BNP ?
Then tackle the fcuking issues forcing them into such extremeties.
