If you want proper chips then you just have to brace your arteries and deep fry.

    Whoever heard of diet fries???
I've never managed to get properly crispy deep-fried chips (that weren't super greasy inside), so my Air Frying results have been much better than that. But you really do need to follow the instructions super closely and the preparation is quite a lengthy process for the homecooked variety (though quite quick if you're only doing frozen chips).

They still don't compare to professionally pressure-fried chips though. But I've been pleasantly surprised.

      See here for picture.

Love to taste some of those air-cooked chips just to compare, because if they are as good as the aforementioned, I'd buy it in an instant!
Must try triple cooking to compare now....looks goooood.
I've gotten some very good crispiness out of Air Frying though.

Normal deep fry needs to be double cooked ( once at 160 and then again at 180 to crisp the outside, triple cooked just involves parboiling beforehand.

You can add flavour by pre cooking the first round in oil using beef dripping or duck fat and the third in rapeseed oil.

Got rid of my deep fat fryer ages ago as I wasn't using it very much.

Yeah, I don't have a deep fat fryer anymore, if I do deep fry something I just do it in a pan these days.

Some leather gloves. Slightly too big, and make my hands a bit sweaty.
An unusual ring made out of an antique spoon. V lovely.
Some clay for my hair. Odd, but effective.
              Knives. Nuff said.
An assortment of old, decorative teaspoons. Lovely.
              An electric drill. Strange.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.
