1) Good people both permies and contractors, interesting technology which has added to my CV and the end client is prestigious. Problem is bad management, both project and man management so those who do take the piss get away with it, main problem is there is no real end in sight, and day to day fire fighting take over everything.

OK so why not just ride it out until Feb, take a month off and then get back in the saddle in April, soaring atop the wave of new budget money like a champion surfer?

And I guess what you mean is, guarantees the next gig will be any better? You can't.

Could you set yourself some personal targets on bringing about change within current client co? Nothing big, just noticeable enough so it keeps you occupied in delivering that change, leaves a legacy so peope will remember you fondly and perhaps makes that company 1 millimetre better?

The world aint perfect, and if it was we'd all be out of a job.
