A ton a month is daylight robbery in my eyes but as was said, if you're working away from home it's worth it as long as it's a bloody excellent place... cheaper than spending the same time in the pub

If thinking of joining seriously, now is the prime time for looking for a good deal.

They may be able to come down a little, but from what I know about DL, there is not much chance of that.

Classes are great for losing the flab by the way - spin, combat, pump, circuits, ab classes, attack - brilliant motivation to actually do a good workout in the hour!
For you permies maybe, but its an hour and a half pay for most of us. My time is valuable to me so I want to spend it wisely. Why bother going to a crappy gym where machines break, or the swimming pools are filled with old grannies?

You think you need to spend £92 to get a gym which isn't falling apart? Unless you get a personal valet to talc your sack, they saw you coming. I'd expect a great gym for half that.

There's a chain here called McFit which is only €19.90 a month and open 24/7/365. Mind you I don't need a gym as I have a Jane to keep me fit

I don't know how mich the gym will be, not asked yet, the £92 quoted by spod was for an upgraded service with "free towels etc"

Buy never gymless, it is far better.

There's a chain in cloggers called "fit for free", bit of a misnomer since you still have to pay

Is "free towels" a code-word like "an extra pillow" at a hotel?

I'm quite tempted to get the book because he seems a fascinating guy actually, but not primarily as a fitness guide!
