I had a great chat with a guy bragging about his Rolex in the bar - I compared it to my timex 50 lap timer Ironman branded watch - mine won hands down.

Water proof, timer, stop watch, light - his heavy and no such features.

I do have a nicer watch <£200 for interviews, functions and looking nice but I very rarely wear it.

In fact, even now my watch is sitting on the desk as it annoys me when typing.
Mine needs to be cheap as I treat everything like tulip.

Omega Seamaster bought in Barbados airport in 1999. I think a sundial would be more accurate than this at the moment though, as it needs a new rechargable battery as it only works when I'm wearing it!

Went to see the battery bloke, and he said "it's not the battery mate. It's died". So now I feel depressed.

I guess I need to buy a new one. Maybe if I go hang round some motorway service station car parks somebody will offer to sell me one?

My father in law asked me to take his Cartier watch to a watch shop to get a new battery fitted, so i walks into the shop and asks the chap if he could put a battery in and he says "yes no problem",

I then ask how much will that be and he says "about a pound which is as much as you paid for the watch when you got off the boat"

            Harsh

My brother and I "bought" my dad a Rolex for £20 outside Harrods about 25 years ago, still works perfectly and even a few of the "good" watch shops couldn't tell the difference

                I haven't worn a watch for over 12 years.
on the rare occasion that I need to know the time, there are plenty of clocks or or other people around to tell me

Nearly all nice men's watches I see are far to big and bulky for a slim-wristed gentleman like myself. Maybe I should find where rich Asian men buy their watches.
