.. France, however, well, if that goes bang, then houses will become even more ridiculously cheap. Chuffed as nuts, as I bought in 2010...
<slaps head>
and most Frogs have this crazy aversion to rural living - They'd sooner be packed in like sardines in some "bijou" little flat in a building with dozens of others, than live in a fine old farmhouse with 10 acres.
That means decent country properties in Normandy might end up even cheaper (aside from the ruinous socialist taxes. Maybe _that's_ why French people don't like large properties - Too vulnerable to property taxes).
I find the stupidity and gall of these politicans amazing.
The Euro may well be fine, but the price in Spain is 25% unemployment (50% of under 25) and a shrinking economy.
It's as if the politicians have decided they will keep the Euro even against their people's interests.
ThThat my friends is the definition of tyranny.

Do you know, I don't get this, really don't. I was almost given my house, and a car, as the chap couldn't sell it, and I reckon it's worth a little less now. I am almost, almost tempted to think of a Plan B of a holiday home business, but the local Marie has just too much power for my liking. He comes and goes as he likes, and I was even approached by the gendarmierie the last time we visited, to check on my ******* taxes; the police ffs.
I reckon if France goes into Meltdown, I will buy a bigger house, closer to the ocean, as they're currently cheap, and I reckon would be stupid cheap if the economy crashed, as unemployment is already really high out of the cities, and would get worse.

But in the greek elections almost everyone voted in favour of the Euro.
But they mostly voted against austerity.
Everyone in Europe wants it the carry on. The Germans want a better exchange rate than they deserve. They want to lend money and get it all back. The latins want to keep spending.

Whereabouts?
...my quagmire of greed....my cesspit of laziness and unfairness....all I am doing is sticking two fingers up at nurses, doctors and other hard working employed professionals...

I think the painful truth is that the politicians in power are too busy defending the 'no going back' approach to the euro that none of them have actually put any thought into workable alternatives.
There's no Plan B. I think it's time to make one.

To be fair the typical European Plan B's in response to when it goes mammaries vertical economically is panzers/cheese eating squaddies/cossacks in large numbers attempting major changes to the cartography of the area.
Ideally that's a scenario I'd prefer to see avoided as it tends to screw up the beaches and sightseeing holiday locations.

Ah yes, Germans coming to Holland, nicking bicycles and turning them into tanks. Yes, come to think of it, you're right; I rather enjoy my bicycle.
