    Yep its a HSBC Premier

it was very convincing, it was just a small ramp thing made of metal in exactly the same colour as the AtM, it even had raised chevrons like the real thing. Funnily enough when it got stuck i did have a look up above to see if anything was obvioulsy dodgy but didn't spot anything, so the camera must have been very small indeed. It's a small village and there were no other people/cars around so they must have been hiding round the corner watching sneakily.

The device itself was pretty well stuck on there as i was giving it a right good pry trying to get the card out.

    Anyway live and learn!

"Card Trapping" is apparently the term they use for this particular type of crime

I genuinely thought all accounts were restricted to 300, I quite like the limit as it restricts how much i can lose in the casino

No. Such a limit is a nightmare if you are working abroad a lot.

Use cash rarely these days. Always cover my pin irrespective of where it is.

Though clogger cards restrict you to daily and weekly amounts you can spend or take out and you can only use a non bank ( i.e. not your bank) atm once in a day. If you want any more cash you have to go to one from your own bank.

              Interesting thread.

I used to keep around £6K in the joint current account of ours, to maximise on the interest. But now i keep just enough in there to pay the Direct Debits coming out.

I trust myself to be vigilant at ATM's/online retailers/etc, but would queencook be as vigilant? After reading this thread, I would have probably been caught by the "card trapping" technique.

You need to get the local brothel to do a sideline in "Accountancy" then let them invoice your ltdco

I've got a Halifax web saver account that gives me a non chipped cash card. I use that for my general day to day cash, I actually have it set with a hard limit of £100 per day so as to avoid this kind of thing. I'll only use my debit card if I really have to.

I do wish accounts would let you specify how much you can withdraw a day up to a certain limit.

Sh1tybank tell me there are withdrawel amounts of various frequencies (per day, 2 day, 3 day etc.) but refuse to specify what they are.
