I had to remove that from one of my handouts coz the esteemed couldn't understand wtf I meant by "poring".

It's difficult to rite stuff for a reading age in single figures.

A teacher once told me that the reading age of the tabloids varied between 5 and 7.

And that was why Enid Blighton books were frowned on. Long before the subject matter became a problem teachers didn't like them for the reading age.

Was irritated by a chap who'd supplied us with a bit of embedded C that had the end banner "Finnished Loading".

Eventually had to ask him to change it so I didn't have to hack the HEX file to fix it.

It got tedious after the 2nd or 3rd time.

We had the irritation of a set of apps that said "Exiting". Some users wondering what was so "exciting".

Mind you that was better than the next job. They insisted that it took 2 seconds for a user to see a message, so forced a 2 second wait and the user would bloody well see that message whether they wanted to get on with other work or not.

I do, depending on the type of document obviously. They can find bloopers.

I ignore some suggestions and a lot of the rules can be turned off.

"Implicit none" was useful back in FORTRAN days to catch typos in variable names.
