    This is spoof news - Radio 2 are running a discussion at the moment - what would it be like if the tabloid editors ran the country and kicked out all the politicians. Sounds like a damn fine idea to me

          Actually this is quite interesting - Joe Public seem to be of the opinion that newspapers give a far greater reflection of public opinion than the average politician. What does the panel think?

            Absolutely - politicians jump on bandwagons, which are mostly started by the media. Look at the Megan's Law thing they are considering bringing in over here. No politician would actually have proposed that off the cuff, but when the press gets a campaign going, the government responds.
            His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...
