    Updation !!

Just been on two 'bob calls' in a row where the word 'updation' was used.

Now, some bob words are crap, but that is a top word which should end up in the OED.

Today, I will mostly be performing updation on the documentation

          According to the dictionary:
updation (noun): the act or process of bringing up-to-date

          usage: informal

The Americans don't like the word though as it's not in their dictionary.

Personally I think you should be teaching the Bobs olde English words to broaden their vocab.

Updation would be a useful word. You could be an Updation Manager!

My favourite is the use of the term 'Red Herring'. I must have caught American colleagues out at least 5/6 times with it over the last few years. Seems it's not at all understood in the US.
