Govt. policies may well have been crap but it doesn't logically follow that an uneducated, ignorant fool's idiotic utopian ideas would be any better.

    HTH, BIDI.

It was your logic sas. You suggested my ideas haven't been adopted because they're crap. However you have now conceded that government chooses crap anyway. By conceding that you also concede that the government hasn't selected good policies, and thus you have also conceded that it does not logically follow that just because my ideas haven't been adopted they are then automatically crap.

Hong Kong has a land value tax btw.

No I said your ideas haven't been adopted because they're idiotic and utopian.
Crap is better than idiotic and utopian.
Anyway if you feel so strongly about it, why not get power, become the chancellor and go for it, instead of spouting bulltulip on an IT forum?

Your stupidity is all-surpassing. In that, you do stand out from the average.

robinho, if you're serious about your ridiculous land tax (and presumably you are, as you never miss an opportunity to bang on about it), why not try Googling on "disadvantages of land tax"? It's the hallmark of a kook to be blind to arguments, or simple observations, that go against their pet theory.

Practically the first link that comes up, Land Tax in NSW - Briefing Paper 06/1998 dated 17/04/1998 - NSW Parliament,
lists several disadvantages, and you'll notice that several countries that used to have some kind of land tax have now abolished it. Doesn't that tell you something?

There are many other disadvantages. For example, off the top of my head, one couldn't directly fleece tourists and visitors via the tax system, as they own no land!

There would have to be so many exemptions that it would end up little different from council tax, with the added risks of either suppressing land development that was appropriate and/or incentivizing development that wasn't.
