I listened to a few minutes of the TalkSport phone-in after the game, but became exasperated by listening to thick people.
Obviously one wouldn't expect any plaudits for an average performance that just about did the job expected, but I learned from the thickies that it was in reality a disaster, and one chap even criticised England for "playing like Spain" and trying to keep possession of the ball.
I had to switch off and have a nice cup of tea instead. And a digestive biscuit.Comment

It was pretty disastrous considering Germany beat a proper team as badly, and England had something like 95% possession.
Goal difference was likely to make a difference, so if you win 5-0 and everyone else beats them by more, it could literally be a disaster.
Pointless match really.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Why are you comparing us with Germany? They aren't in our group and have no relevance to us.
Ukraine are, however, and they failed to win in Moldova. That was a far worse result.Comment

Yes but Ukraine not winning was a bit of a shock.
Scoring 5 goals past a team who would be in the English conference league is not exactly a success.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
