The government does have a role to play in the econony. To protect its citizens from theft which also encompasses fraud and contract law.

This is almost worthy of a new sig. The entity that steals most from the citizens is the government!

Additionally i am against it on a moral ground as as i said earlier, i believe healthcare is a commodity and not a right, thus making it tax funded is essentially theft. Of course that doesn't mean i want to see poor people die in the streets, just i believe charity is the correct way to aid these people.

Ive just spent the morning in the local shopping mall, it is chock full of people spending my taxes on their petty useless lives. As you say ultimately (if there isnt already) there will be too many parasites for the host to support, and I look forward to that day, cant be far off?

I have a smallholding, and am selling up every 'investment' to go mortgage free next spring. Still think there's a tulipstorm coming somewhere down the track.

There is also a widely held belief by most people that no matter how bad things are that it is the job of the Government to put things right - and even more astonishingly that any Government is capable of putting things right. The notion that it is the Government's fault that Britain is in a mess is still not seen to be a reason for questioning the ability of a Government to solve problems. The idea that the Conservative Party will be able to do any better than the Labour Party when it gets into office is equally strange. Maybe the reason that the Chinese are so much better placed to face the future is because they are not a democracy. One thing that is for sure is that the British Government will be publishing policies right up to the bitter end.
