Of course, if the deceased died of a heart attack, you might want to go light on the cholesterol.

        Funeral Potatoes

Now, I must confess to being a little stuck for ideas so, as usual, it's over to my dear friends at CUK to pique my imagination with some inspirational suggestions.

Nothing too spicy mind you, I don't want a repeat of the last family gathering at which my great aunt Hilda sneezed her false teeth across the church hall after being overcome by Malc's wasabi peas.

I also want something that can be eaten with the minimum of fuss and mess. Damage limitation to the our Axminster shag pile is of prime concern and I don't want my cheese slipping from its cracker worrying about it all through the event.

Any ideas from our resident epicureans would be most appreciated.

        Try these.

Made them a few times, without being a funeral.
They are sooo tasty, should put a smile on a few faces!

Not that this is real but just contact a local caterer who will put together something for £3-10 a head.

Why not kill 2 birds with one stone and combine the event with your Halloween party? You could get the organist to play the Monster Mash as they make their way out of church to get them in the mood!

why are you trying to impress with the food? it's hardly as though thats the reason people are there.

As previously said, go with the audience and what they would expect i.e traditional. Get a local caterers to do something a bit more professional if you want.
