No, not made up, looking forward to day with friends tomorrow, on the Tone, then the restaurant on Sunday. Table booked weeks ago, could only get 2.30...Originally posted by moggy View PostIf this isn't made up.. i'm jealous!
There are beaches on the Ile D'Oleron you just walk and dig and pick up the clams. There's even mussel frames in the sea, so if you get there early enough, you can also get some fresh mussels, if you can beat the locals...Comment

Nice. Very, very nice!Originally posted by Old Hack View PostMade this with freshly found clams on Ile D'Oleron this summer. Magnificent...
I had to settle for Waitrose this time round
That's pretty poor. I'm currently let the little blighters sit in some cold filtered water to remove the sand and then I'll brush them. I also remove most from the shells and leave a couple in for decoration. Don't overcook them or they'll go rubbery.Originally posted by OwlHootI used to love that and would order it a lot in Italian restaurants; but I've had to stop now they've taken to leaving the mussel shells intact.
Right, let's boil these bastards in some Muscadet.
A fun weekend to all!If you think my attitude stinks, you should smell my fingers.Comment
