If he "swore in frustration"

One of them is lying. It is a pretty cunning lie (if it is the copper) to say that Mitchell used the word 'pleb', as it's not a common (no pun etc.) word nowadays but probably exactly the kind of word Mitchell used at school.The material prosperity of a nation is not an abiding possession; the deeds of its people are.

I assume that's why the copper wrote down 'pleb' so he could look it up later and see what it means.

I was going to say that myself. I don't think your average copper would know what it means.Originally posted by Platypus View PostI assume that's why the copper wrote down 'pleb' so he could look it up later and see what it means.

Police and politicians are filled with tits so when the jobsworth police tit refused to open the gate the politician tit starting acting like a tit to them. Hardly any surprise.Comment

There is a lot of sanctimonious hypocrisy going on here. When you insult someone you usually come up with an insult designed to have the necessary effect. Obviously this guy thought that "pleb" was a good word to use. It was not an abusive swear word but it was strong enough to offend the copper. It bears little or no relevance to any "prejudice or "attitude".
I was once queuing outside Arding and Hobbs in Clapham junction with my wife waiting for the new year sale to open. There were a lot of Black Afro/carribeans getting agitated with each other over queue barging. One of these guys called the other a Bl*** Bas***d". Does this reflect racism? No. It reflects a frustrated individual expressing his frustration according to the moment.
This whole episode is now developing into a battleground for indignant self righteous (lets face it
) plebs (with huge chips on their shoulders - mostly outraged politically correct lefties)) to play out their own petty insecurities.
Whether you are a snob, a pleb r a racist you will insult someone by saying something that will wind them up not because you have inner prejudices - it goes on here every day and long may it continue (within reason
)

I'm a bit lost, this is one of the most 'at risk' areas in the UK yet we have no CCTV on the gate in question? (the one used to enter & exit a primary terrorist target?)Comment

The ones that will shout loudest to get him sacked will be the ones that think we live in a fascist police state.Comment
