**** me, I did a contract where I was 30km away from the rest of the team, sitting in a cellar by myself with a crappy old T20 Thinkpad with the occasional visit from the other inhabitant of the cellar who was the local nutter support guy until I got the 3 mumbling Bobs sitting opposite me for a few weeks who got kicked out as they were crap...
I did a week in Vienna once where it was just me and the machine room and I couldn't get out once the door was shut and there was no phone...
I worked down near Stuttgart once where I had a decent laptop, access to everything, right next to the canteen, a huge office but **** all work until they offered me a project for the Pakistani airforce right on the border with Afghanistan just before it all kicked off...
I worked in Madrid and no ****er spoke English or German except for the boss and he was hardly ever there...
I had to work in Kennesaw County where by law you have to have a gun...
You've got it ******' easy mate...
Madrid no good then? I've been offered a 1 yr gig there...was considering it. I've never been and don't speak the lingo.
On one of my contracts a team of us started on the same day. Our first task was to build all the desks.
Not a single contractor refused to build his own desk. That was a great project. Pity it was in Hull.
WSSS
I've moved office furniture and re-routed all the network cables when we moved form one small office to a larger un used space in the building. We got all the bacon butties we could eat aswell as day rate
