At the bottom of most of the mess is usually a Bob. And he's usually just about to leave for the day.

Unite and fight, Control the information flow to keep them in the dark. Your country needs YOU.

Sounds like every Bob project I've been on for the last 10 years. All you can do is:

      1. Make local management aware of the issues.
      2. Keep a log of all the things you fix (and why you had to step in to fix them.)
      3. Invoice.
      4. Repeat.

Frustrating, I know, but if that's the way clients want to run their projects these days - and most of them do - then just keep Invoicing their Idiocy (tm).

Yep. I've tried convincing clientcos about the value of local Agile teams and exploratory testing in two week sprints as an alternative that's more productive and more reliable than outsourcing, but most won't believe it. Well, I say they won't believe it but actually I think middle managers do believe it and are scared tulipless that they won't be needed if you move to agile working, and therefore throw sand in the eyes of senior management (assuming they aren't already blind), to try and protect this massive pyramid scheme known as 'management'. Ever noticed how many people at ooutsourcing projects have the word 'manager' in their job title? Basically, Indians working in a waterfall approach give you the same level of chronic tulipeness as a team of westerners working in a waterfall approach, but they appear somewhat cheaper and that price per hour differential pays the salary of some middle manager.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

That I'm a turd is your subjective opinion. That you don't know the very basics of C is a documented fact.

I'd beg to disagree, it's quite clearly and consistently been documented over the course of 14,162 posts on this here forum that you are indeed a prize, bedwetting, twunt of the highest order.

Jesus Christ ROFL. Have you got that syndrome where kidnap victims fall in love with their kidnappers.

What kind of man writes "that I'm a turd is your opinion" on an anonymous forum. If ever you could find the courage to summon up some bile now is the time.

You would be on anti-depressants after a month in my team. You just haven't got what it takes to succeed have you?

Whereas you manage to repeat the same feat in every individual post you make. Well done.

I'd be more worried if someone as bitter and malodorous as yourself didn't dislike me.

You have valid points there but seem to have confused offshoring with outsourcing.
We contractors are a form of oursourcing too.
I like aspects of agile but when it comes to contracting, working in an agile environment doesn't seem to go well with trying not to seem like 'part and parcel' of client org.. how do you manage that?
If your're (or seem to be) doing the same job as the permies (theoretically anyone can pick up a card and progress on it), obliged to attend scrum meetings where your day's work gets decided, how do you avoid looking like an 'employee' ?
