Reports now suggest that he was diagnosed with an inoperable brain cancer, prompting him to end his own life. At least it makes a little more sense now.

I wouldn't go as far as saying it made any sense, its a situation that is is a no win, I would hope I would always choose to spend what ever little time I had left with the ones I loved, give them a chance to say goodbye too.
