It's working for me in FF now as well. For now. I guess their hamster must have woken up and started running in its wheel again.

What is it about websites that employ 'zany' characters like this on their front page, and their seeming lack of ability to check basic functionality? :

If you are snooping around other people's companies then at least have decency to pay some money - if you ask me price should have been at least £100+VAT with 80% of money going to those who get snooped on

Oh yes, I can see why you are to be snooped on.

The chap that owns the site (and that seems to be a developer on it too) was trying to make much the same point but more delicately on his Twitter feed earlier. He was asking whether he should consider charging for more of the services being offered? To be honest, though, if you can't get the free offerings that you hope will entice people to purchase your detailed service right, nobody's going to be interested in buying what you're selling. I wouldn't even trust that their information is correct based on how shoddy the rest of their website is.

I last tried it yesterday but didn't get very far so I assumed they were having problems or system down.

What suprised me is that he (according to site) got this data licensed by Companies House, that's really odd for CH to even consider such thing in the first place (they should be the only authoritative source for such data) and especially in cases when whoever lisenses it wants to give it away for free.

£1 is very small fee for this information - easily 20% of that go in fees to credit card processors. In most countries such information isn't even available at all - yet alone for such a ridiculously small fee.

I much prefer it costing a quid. If people want to check up on me then a quid is nothing, but it stops the nosey but wont pay brigade.

Yep, Companies House are missing a trick there if you ask me. Then again, they're meant to exist to provide a public service rather than a profit for the public purse.

Taking payment also records who requested it.
