The extra GB of RAM won't hurt either, plus the samsung looks like it will be steadier than the HTC when laid flat on a desk
go easy with the Samsung - chap i know has had his phone a week or so, dropped it on the floor and screen cracked.
I don't think they are very durable.

I had to make my upgrade decision today as my contract expired and the O2 dude was trying to steer me towards the One X or S3. Both look good and I was tempted for a second but then said I'd wait until the iPhone 5 and WP8 handsets come out. Guy just sighed and said, "yep, thats what everyone is doing".

Instead I went on a rolling 30 day contract for my current iPhone 4 @ £13/month with all the calls and data I need

Technology wise Samsung and HTC appear to be ahead of Apple, it is just the sheer number of apps, simplicity and branding which makes Apple top dog.

I totally agree, much as I love Apple kit, I've been reading and watching loads of reviews of the latest gen Android devices (well the S3 and One X) and they are far ahead of the 4S in both hardware performance and features.

Problem is, being stuck in the Apple ecosystem means i'd lose loads by changing from iOS to Android or WP.

Tons of purchased apps, accessories, chargers, docks, music, tv programs, movies, books, iCloud tulip etc etc would be down the pan. For that reason i've gotta hedge my bets on the iPhone 5 being a blinder - and nothing out there suggests it wont be, as long as its comparable in performance to HTC/Samsung's latest offerings then that'll be fine.

                Thanks, Steve.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Hope you haven't got too much hardware, gonna be expensive to replace all them when it comes out!

No doubt it will be blinder, they all are as they constantly leapfrog each other.

Rumour has the iphone 5 will have a bigger screen and more powerful processor, 4G compatibility and a better resolution. Hardly enough to convince me to upgrade....
