I hate the phrase 'paradigm shift', but that's what has happened and many senior managers are way behind the times.

You don't need layers and layers of middle managers, quality systems anal cysts, 'competence centres', corporate 'centres of excellence' and so on any more, but middle management's self preservation combined with senior management being out of touch and in some industries, government regulations that amount to paper tiger politics are all holding IT back, and I suspect many other industries too.
We had this 30 years ago. We were a small team knocking out real business solutions but the big boys up the road with a staff of 100 didn't want to know. Guess who ended up looking for new jobs?

A comment I heard the other day: "You are too small to sue if it all goes titsup, so we'll stick with the big consultancies".

I hate out sourcing as much as the next guy. The bottom line is that RBS is owned by the tax payer who did'nt want to own it but had no choice. They needed to cut costs. Unfortunately some of the costs that have been cut was to out sorce the IT Dept, which may have prooved a very bad move.

I currently have my business account with Natwest and the only issue I had was that I couldn't log in to check the balance. I have enough in the for direct debits and my next payment coming in is in July so wasn't duly worried.

After having read this forum and also speaking to a number of Natwest account holders who did suffer, I am considering switching my business account to another bank.

My personal account is with First Direct who are brilliant but they don't do Business accounts.

Does anyone know which UK bank does Business accounts, has it's call centre and IT based in the UK?

            Regards

Just a FYI for those banking with Cater Allen.

I have had a client payment delayed for three days as despite being part of Santander they use RBS for clearing BACS payments.

It's not clear from their website message as they say some payments may be affected.

HSBC would meet that criteria. Not dealt with an Indian call centre yet and I'm sure when I last saw my business manager she said that they only had uk centres for business customers.

I've had to deal with an Indian person once but that was a couple of years ago. (They told me to go into the branch.)
