It's easy to coast and you can get used to it real easy.
Now you are obviously in an environment where everyone equates being in an office with being productive. (I dont) You clearly have not asked the right questions in the negotiations or you would have figured that bit out without trying for a 100 hour week...
If I was you I'd get back on the plane. Its not going to do you any good staying there to go for a heart attack... I wouldn't care if you are working for Apple on 200K a year. I wouldn't be putting in those sorts of hours for anyone. Especially not if its just coz thats what the locals are doing.
