I honestly don't know why everyone thinks Greece leaving will be the end of the euro. they will leave, the tulip will hit the fan for them and no one else will want to go through it. I would say it will strengthen the euro if Greece leave.

So the options for Greece are, stay in the political and financial union and be kind of fooked, leave but keep using the currency and be really fooked or leave and make your own currency and be really fooked.
If you are a Scottish nationalist you think the last 2 options are definitely the best.Comment

I think the "institutions" are just biding their time till Sunday, in the hopes/expectation that the referendum (which they didn't even need to ask for) will go in their favour, delegitimising Syriza, and putting in power a government more amenable to their ends.Comment

The EU doesn't win fiancially, and in the long term this might not save the Euro, but Grexit is what they wanted to happen even whilst they protest the opposite
It's a political message above any notion of economic reality, a game both sides are playingSocialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment
