        If their debt was wiped out, it would not solve the Greek problem. Its an uncompetitive country. It needs to devalue. Or drastically reduce spending and increase tax revenues.

        If all the money in the world was shared out equally, in 6 months there would be super rich and impoverished. The Greeks would still be poor.
        I think without debt repayments greek spending is about 60% of GDP, so clear the debt by defaulting and they can increase public spending and still carry a surplus.
