I think there is speculation that net energy of the universe is zero too, with gravitational potential energy cancelling out the rest. Net momentum never changes as don't most things, net electrical charge, spin, colour, etc of the universe. The universe seems symmetrical, with particles even having their own antiparticles.

Probably better to speak in terms of the more fundamental entropy than energy though, the move from order to disorder, but the question here is what state did the universe start in (high order presumably) and what state will it end (high order again?).

On reading the original wiki link again, the section on ‘Alien Design’ is quite interesting. Based on a number of documentaries I’ve seen, many experts believe far more advanced forms of life exist in the universe (possibly silicon based rather than carbon). Therefore, it makes perfect sense that extra-terrestrial designers created a new universe (our) and fine-tuned the constants.

Those "many experts" are the same kind of "experts" who think "Day After Tomorrow" is valid science. Anyone can call themselves an expert

I've always wondered how someone can be an expert on the universe.

How would you define an expert?

If the number of galaxies in our universe approaches infinity, wouldn’t you agree that probability says the chances of advanced intelligent life forms are high? Given the timespan of the universe, the human timeline is absolutely tiny, almost negligible.

It’s healthy to keep an open mind.

Which so-called "Expert" said that then, eh?

Someone with a solid background in hard science who has established a reputation, has work published in mainstream peer-reviewed journals, etc.

There are proper scientists in this field but in any area where evidence is hard to find on which to test your theories, you get a huge fringe of people claiming to be experts who aren't actually scientists at all.

                  From the original wiki link:-

"One hypothesis is that the Universe may have been designed by extra-universal aliens. Some believe this would solve the problem of how a designer or design team capable of fine-tuning the Universe could come to exist. Cosmologist Alan Guth believes humans will in time be able to generate new universes. By implication previous intelligent entities may have generated our Universe.[29] This idea leads to the possibility that the extraterrestrial designer/designers are themselves the product of an evolutionary process in their own universe, which must therefore itself be able to sustain life"

I highlighted your statement "It’s healthy to keep an open mind." anyone else would have realised that I was referring to that particular statement in my question.

Btw #1, what makes you think that the "Human" race isn't just another species that will eventually become extinct?

                    And Btw #2, you're wrong!

Let's save generating new universes until we know if Higgs is real, how gravity works, and we can get Fusion power working
