Interesting to see that the stock has crashed today to around 33$ range. Wasnt the initial valuation around the 28$ mark ? Would be interesting to watch this share. I have a feeling it will stay around 20$ mark and might start rising if FB starts reporting billions in profit.Vote Corbyn ! Save this country !Comment

Well it means someone is shorting it. Of course to be able to short it, somebody has to lend you the shares. Bearing in mind the banks own 86% of the shares then only they have enough to lend, to whit, they are then being shorted!!!Originally posted by d000hg View PostIt's not going well. They're just fallen to $33.50 from $38 at opening today.
They fell to $35 and hovered before suddenly dropping to $34. Then the same at $34 before suddenly dropping $0.50. Is this due to automatic sell orders triggering?

But do you think he really cares?
Facebook is only for sad pathetic lonely people who have the mindless hope that letting the world know what they do and when they do it for hour after interminable hour will make them famous and interesting. That they are making a mark on this world (just before they drop into obscurity).
Sorry, have to go and update my facebook.......................................... ...........Comment

You're not one of these "NoSQL is the silver bullet" types are you?Originally posted by russell View PostWhat memcached and mysql? If they had to build it from scratch I am sure they would have chosen a more scalable database like mongodb. I heard they are hamstrung with that setup. I often see posts go missing and other bugs, probably due to the backend being a mess. It is you who hasn't a clue what they are on about.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

Nope, but for scaling horizontally there are better solutions than MySQL for persistence.Originally posted by d000hg View PostYou're not one of these "NoSQL is the silver bullet" types are you?Comment

I can't understand its valuation. I have it to stay in touch in family and friends, school friends. Post the kids photos. Never used a link, or a game, and would walk away should I start being charged for anything. I believe most, if not all, would to. It has done precisely what he wanted, and that was to keep people connected, and for that it is wonderful. But not wonderful enough to pay for it, as I already pay for email and phones, and would simply go back to doing it that way.
Can't see how they've valued it at 100bn, madnessComment

Blinked and it fell from $32.30 to $31.
