      He had friends?

You mean he was once not grumpy and obnoxious?

I retired a few years ago

Didn't last long, it was either go back to work or go slowly insane.

Spent all my money now and have another mortgage so have to work until I'm 60-65

Just to clear up a few points:

            1. I'm not a house husband since I have an independent income. No sprog duties as he will go to nursery.
            2. The main reason for this is to batten down the hatches for the coming economic storm. We can survive indefinitely without working now.
            3. It's a semi retirement really -I'm too young and energetic not to do anything. what I'm looking for is ideally some part-time, high paid working from home. Shouldn't be too hard given my talents.
            4. I have 6 months notice to serve.
            5. Most importantly, I've never been happier now that I've made the decision.
            Hard Brexit now!

They all say that. Just make sure the house is clean for when she gets home.

Means you're scared of getting fired so best to jump first.

Rents boys are normally quite young with large todgers so you're fecked there.

We've come to an agreement that I go in six months as opposed to getting fired

You quit your job to prepare better for the upcoming economic storm?
