I found for the first time recently, a website which detects if you are using an ad-blocker and reduces functionality if you are.Originally posted by minestrone View Post(I also use ad blocker on that set up which is something I don't like using 'cos I understand the revenue model of websites but sometimes you just have to break the rules)Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

THis is something I have pondered for a while as to how this can be done.Originally posted by d000hg View PostI found for the first time recently, a website which detects if you are using an ad-blocker and reduces functionality if you are.
Unless the browser is actively reporting back ad blockage then I just cannot see how the server can reduce functionality.Comment

Perhaps the server app checks for requests it expects to see from the suppressed ad, in which case to trick it the ad blocker would have to let the ad run as it would normally but in an invisible window.Originally posted by minestrone View PostTHis is something I have pondered for a while as to how this can be done.

If the server ties in the session ID to the ad and then yes the server can be assured that the ad is being called for but the browser plug in can therefore choose not to display it. I thunk.Comment
