I have some sympathy for wim here. I think the problem is that white, middle class men were blamed more or less continuously for all of the worlds problems and isms for quite a long period and now you have a generation of white middle class men who may never have done anything wrong but feel a little bit persecuted. When I was coming of age (mid-late 80s) women could be seen walking around wearing t shirts that said "every man is a potential rapist". Not all of them, but that sort of attitude was out there in the zeitgeist. What sort of message does that send out to adolescent boys? I'm fairly sure that if I were to walk around wearing a shirt that said every woman is a potential whore I'd get in a whole lot of trouble.

Actually, I agree to some extent. Wim does (occasionally) have some valid points, but his OTT ranting is unlikely to win him support for his case, and doesn't invite reasoned discussion.
