What's a feminist?

It cant be stopped. What you discuss as a sexual organisation, which it is, was made a sexist law in 1860.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostHear hear. And in particular this should apply at home and at work.
The family courts believe that the woman's place is in the home. They are a sexist organization that should be stopped. And they would have been stopped by now apart from the fact that men are muppets with zero communication skills and let women run circles round us. Sweeping generalization/Extrapolation - but this is cuk.
Yes they can, but we don't call them feminists. We call them pussy-whipped.Originally posted by Diver View Post
Er! A feminist could be a bloke
Oh yeah!

Nobody is arguing with that. However women already have that and many are arguing that it has swung the other way.Originally posted by k2p2 View PostThe argument for political, social, and economic equality. Does anyone disagree with that?
Unfortunately society addresses discrimination by shifting the discrimination, ie: positive discrimination. rather than rectifying incorrect attitudes. Discrimination just because it is popular and seen as justified or not harmful is still discrimination.
I could pose you the exact same quote above but concerning men.
Simples, people shouldnt be having kids willy nilly.Originally posted by k2p2 View PostThere is a fundamental problem that a stay at home mum (or dad, but usually mum) is not financially independent, and therefore not 'equal' (and is why child benefit is important). Which is fine if you're in a solid, well-balanced relationship, but not so fine when you're not, and becomes a total mess when that relationship finishes (see the many 'she's fleecing me' threads on this and other sites). Dunno what the answer is though.
A marriage shouldnt finish, it should be for life. The reason why they do is because people get married far too quickly and have children before they get to know their partners. Our modern marriages make it far too easy for people to walk away from them.
If people got this through their skulls and didnt reproduce just for welfare money or because they cant contain themselves and think logically, then overpopulation wouldnt be an issue either. Everyone seems to feel it is their god given right to reproduce, it isnt.
I find myself in agreeing with you again.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostI don't have a problem with feminists in general. It is when they go too far and try make a level playing field when it isn't and will never be level. As pointed out very well by other posters there will always be a difference in some areas both positive and negative for both sides so to try and ride rough shod over the lot is just wrong... Am not a racist either but have a problem with people who lose site of the bigger picture and attribute everything to a racist issue when again it clearly isn't. I think it is just the few menances that spoil it for the rest. Same could be applied to absolutely every group I guess.
Indeed, I didnt see your post before mine, but well said.Originally posted by amcdonald View PostI've met enough feminists that have been female supremicists and closet man haters
Feminism is a dirty word because of them
No I am not. Feminine is the qualities associated with the female form. Feminists before the word was muddied, used to be women who embraced those qualities and acted like a lady.Originally posted by Bunk View PostI think you're mixing up feminism and feminine.
No sweeping generalisations at all, feel free to incorrectly point any out.Originally posted by Spacecadet View PostThat whole thing reads as wrong (definition of feminism) and then one massive sweeping generalisation after another
What I wrote describes our laws and the general attitude and social issues we face today. At no point has any insults or generalisations been made on women themselves.Comment

No flaw at all.
You're better if you do any work for the government or MOD not to have any intelligence. All you need to do is follow orders.
Many from the forces will know this to be true. You shouldnt be countering your orders with a better plan, you shut up and do as you're told.

Thing is do you want to be tarred with this at all?Originally posted by k2p2 View PostSo if you're not a feminist, what are you?
I go back to my comment about the more extreme elements making the rest look stupid. Lo and be hold I find this comment on the BBC site on a discussion about teenagers watching porn...
People need to recognise that pornography is a depiction of horrific sexual violence, where real women are hurt. It is not just pictures. If we didn't have misogyny, we wouldn't have these depictions of women being hurt.Article is here.... BBC News - Could teenagers be stopped from looking at porn? There has got to be a proper understanding porn is a reflection of misogyny and these pictures are in a sense a crime as somebody has been hurt.
That is the type of utter bollox that I would expect to make most women distance themself from the word altogether.. Makes me mad....

Strange as it may seem, I have no interest in porn. I don't watch or read it.
Last one I tried to watch was over 20 years ago and got bored with it after 10 mins.
Nowhere near real. Women are never that enthusiastic and they rarely bring a friend

I like women who realise they are women and behave in a ladylike manner. Sadly, modern societies women for the most part, do not behave like this.
Only in some respects, you fail to qualify what you mean by thisFeminism has become a dirty word.
Sweeping generalisationHowever feminism especially in the last half century hasn't wanted true equality, They use propaganda and positive discrimination to go beyond equal rights and take what they want.
Even bigger sweeping generalisation and one which every single woman I know would take some offence atYounger generations have different ambitions as well. Now young girls aren't so much interested in becoming doctors, but having babies while they are teenagers so they can get their own council place
Again, utter tulip and another sweeping generalisationYoung girls are brought up to suffer from the mental affliction of princess syndrome.
You're calling out a very small minority who the press love to publish as it makes good copyFemi-nazis go one step further though.
Excellent, you've fallen into the trap laid by the media.. see aboveI have a deep hatred of feminists/femi-nazis as they HATE the concept of equality and want everything their own way
Any examples here? Or is it just another massive generalisationWhat I hate is the way society panders to women,
Was your job application to the local lap dancing bar turned down or something?Should a man say that their gender isn't fairly treated in modern society they will be subjected to a barrage of abuse and misleading statistics and called a misogynist, sexist pig or any foul mouthed salutation.
Give me a sensible example of where men are going to find the going difficult in this country because they are a man.
The only real bit of discrimination against men that goes on is in the family courts, this is slowly changing though as the system is starting to wakeup to the fact that fathers can be just as responsible of a parent as the mother.Coffee's for closersComment
