It's this extremism or zealotry thats the problem, not the idea itself. You can find this type of person in most 'isms'
socialism, the green movement, feminism, political correctness
they give the idea a bad name

The advocacy of women's rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality to men.
Some posters here seem to have a problem with feminists.
A feminist is someone (male or female) who believes that women are equal to men - and should have equal rights/opportunities and not be discriminated against because of gender.
The history of why we have 'feminist' rather than 'masculinist' as a common concept is that women haven't always been considered / treated as equal.
So if you're not a feminist, what are you?Originally posted by Lockhouse View PostWomen are equal in some respects and superior in others. And so are men.
KP, I feel your question is aimed at myself among others. The definition of feminism depends on what dictionary you look in at what point in time.
The true original dictionary definition of feminism is "the act of behaving like a female" and nothing turns me on more. I like women who realise they are women and behave in a ladylike manner. Sadly, modern societies women for the most part, do not behave like this.
Feminism has become a dirty word. I think we all believe in equal pay, no discrimination just because of gender and fair treatment. I certainly believe in that equality and will make sure I speak up so it is met if I ever see it isn't.
However feminism especially in the last half century hasn't wanted true equality, They use propaganda and positive discrimination to go beyond equal rights and take what they want. A day observing family/divorce courts can show you how unfairly weighted society and the legal field is. Attitudes may not have completely changed, but the system has. Discriminating against men or white people, then laughing and brushing it aside is still sexism and racism, but it is accepted and dismissed in modern society. That is wrong.
Younger generations have different ambitions as well. Now young girls aren't so much interested in becoming doctors, but having babies while they are teenagers so they can get their own council place. They know how the system works and many know if there are multiple fathers, they can earn a fortune through CSA.
Young girls are brought up to suffer from the mental affliction of princess syndrome. Parents who treat young girls like "princesses" and the media teach women that they should be entitled to good things in life, just because they have a vagina. Couple with our instant gratification/I want ethos in society, young women are now staunch feminists, programmed in to them from birth.
Femi-nazis go one step further though. These women know how the system works and have a deep hatred for men. These are the women that make comments like "a man cant be raped" or fake rape claims just to get a man locked up that they are upset with. These type of women can often be overheard making threats and jokes of violence against men, campaigning for lenient sentences for women, yet harsher sentences for men. They will go one step further than feminist activists and constantly spew vile hatred wherever they can. They often end up becoming lesbians or staying single as the most dimwitted men after sleeping with them for a while, can tell how much they truly hate penis wearers.
I have a deep hatred of feminists/femi-nazis as they HATE the concept of equality and want everything their own way. However I cannot do anything against them and neither can anyone else as our sexist society would lock a man up in a heartbeat for the same things that people find amusing and acceptable from women.
But instead of trying to twist this in a classic feminist way, I do not hate women. I am heterosexual. What I hate is the way society panders to women, the matrifocal western world we live in that is shifting towards matriarchy. It is unjust and unfair to persecute younger generations on a social issue that has vastly changed in recent decades.
While your post may seem reasonable, this is the start of the attack used by feminists. You describe men who may act in a similar way as perhaps 'masculinist'. However men who even behave in such a way are ostracised in society making equal rights impossible for men. Should a man say that their gender isn't fairly treated in modern society they will be subjected to a barrage of abuse and misleading statistics and called a misogynist, sexist pig or any foul mouthed salutation.Comment
