Limited legal aid to non-taxpayers - provide only in real serious criminal cases (like murder) and in cases when the person isn't even UK citizen deportation should not even be a problem.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View PostHow would one craft such a law to exclude him???
His lawyers must be costing hundreds of thousands, if he is paying I'd be interested to know where he got money from and whether he paid tax on it.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View PostWhat makes you think he isn't paying btw.Comment

I agree it does'nt matter,Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostWhat makes you think that even matters?
It is interesting that the condescending leftist view is that we owe these sort of people a living or protection whilst at the same time looking down at the regimes from which they come from.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

Bollocks - this isn't a leftist or rightist issue at all. In the unlikely event you care, the ECHR was signed up to by Winston Churchill, hardly an arch leftie.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostI agree it does'nt matter,

Agree to that. This is just simple logic. This guy is an enemy of this state and he wants our protection, let him offer to serve us and the nation and condemn all extremism and terrorism and then we can talk about rights.Originally posted by Peoplesoft bloke View PostBollocks - this isn't a leftist or rightist issue at all. They merely have a much narrower set of moral judgement areas than you do, focussing on caring and fairness, whereas you will also make a moral judgement on loyalty, authority ,sanctity and add it to the mix.
So the lefties are much nicer, but not willing to face the grim realities. According to that article, we need each other. We need them, to make us nicer, they need us, in case there is any tough stuff that needs doing

The condescending element I talk about weighs against the assumption that Jordan as a country is barbaric. And whilst I agree hugely with what the article says the short term liberal "kindness" often creates misery for others who probably deserve more kindness.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View Postaccording to the Telegraph they are not condecending.

I do not regard liberal kindness as a virtue or even a pleasant aspect of an individuals character. I regard it as extreme selfishness and would find it hard to trust (and therefore like) such a person. Do we need lefties? Do we need the balance they bring to gung ho "rider" logic? maybe, but right now we can do with less of it.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment

non-taxpayers...like my 6 y/o and most of the spouses in the country who don't work. Everyone has human rights regardless of status in the country...unless you are a Brazilian Electrician that is.Originally posted by AtW View PostLimited legal aid to non-taxpayers - provide only in real serious criminal cases (like murder) and in cases when the person isn't even UK citizen deportation should not even be a problem.

Could it be Donations? There are many human rights charities (like the one Chakrabarti runs) that could also be paying.
Agree, if he is making loads and not paying tax I wanna know how!McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

Like a lot of things the ECHR fitted a purpose, it no longer does. Obviously I meant adult non-taxpayers, perhaps excluding pensioners who've earned their right by paying tax.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View Postnon-taxpayers...like my 6 y/o and most of the spouses in the country who don't work.Comment
