Mrs BP has a very sensitive sense of smell so has got candles out.
All depends what your/he eats really ... Diet really does affect the consistency and smell of craps ...

Is he eating a lot of meat by the way? You both might be feeding him too well ... I might try a few more yoghurts and fruit in his diet which might make his craps a bit less smelly ....

His craps were absymal - like sick! However we found he was dairy intolerant so have switched to lactose free milk. Not bad tasting actually! It has cleared up the issues.

Sorry about that. But imagine poor Mrs BP having to clean it up. And as he did it in nappies it burnt his skin. Not that it taught him to do it in the toilet - he is so far down the communication scale. But he is very very happy in his own little world.

Is we have lowered the tone already I shall add my two'pennth worth.

My 2 year old has developed what seems a minor lactose intolerance, so when ever he is given real milk (we have been advised by the doctor to keep giving him a little bit in the hope that he "grows out of it") his nappies become quickly filled with a substance which looks to have the texture of water (it certainly has the viscosity to run like lightning when leaking), the colour of dirty dish water (a greeny/gray/brown colour) and a smell that will strip paint of the walls, one which hangs at the back of your throat and taste's acidic.

It was quite funny watching my brother, a roughty toughy soldier who has server many tours of Iraq, Agfanistan, Northern Ireland and Bosnia, been cited for bravery (the CO's words, ours was stupidity) in his actions, who has seen death and taken lives himself in the defense of our country violently throw up as his nephew proceed to tulip in his direction.

We found lactose free cheese and try to give baby BP dark chocolate. Any other tips?

I haven't gone down the lactose free route yet, trying him on soya, but he soya yogurts are rank!

We went quite hardcore with dietary restrictions for our (recovered) autistic boy. So dairy & gluten free (look up the SCD diet for guidance) amongst other things.

Basically he ate meat and vegetables. Even for breakfast.

Most autistic children have gut problems, this is what Andrew Wakefield was investigating. As I recall there were 2 main issues, problems with yeast infections and microbial imbalance - strep vs e.coli (way way way too much strep). Once we sorted this out the 'quality' of his stools improved - from runny & stinging (as you described) to well-formed.

Also his mercury levels were off the chart (heavy metal toxicity is thought to be a contributing cause of autism in some cases). With some of the chelation therapy you could actually smell the metal in his poo.
                    Keeping calm. Keeping invoicing.

Are you on LactoFree or a milk alternative? LactoFree is great as it's actually real milk.
