That's the professional forums. Most people who post in general are definitely post-lobotomy .Originally posted by AtW View PostYour doctor was wrong.

If we are going to have a rep system then it either has to be limited to 5 reps a day as it was when it first started last time, with a 3/4 day wait between repping the same person or be anonymous. Both will stop the blatant whoring now taking place by a particular poster. Alternatively ensure that postcount is not such a driver. What happens in General, stays in General. You know what they say about assumptions!Comment

My view is that you shouldn't need to 'spread it around' - a 48hr gap between repping the same user would be better. When the system first came out, I used it occasionally to rep funny/helpful/interesting posts. But as only about 3 posters ever post funny/helpful/interesting posts I found, even after a gap of several weeks, I couldn't rep deserving posts. So started spreading it around to anyone who wasn't a complete knob. Soon realised that's what everyone else was doing too, so rep whoring becomes inevitable.Comment

How about adopting the approach, give +ve rep interesting comments, -ve for pointless one or to Russell?Originally posted by eek View PostI'm just going to adopt the approach of I'll return exactly the rep I receive. This only applies to rep received from now.Originally posted by Stevie Wonder BoyI can't see any way to do it can you please advise?

I think rep should be entirely based on honour system, allow the person who gives it to specify rep range, say from 1-100.Comment
