I think rep should be entirely based on honour system, allow the person who gives it to specify rep range, say from 1-100.

Better an anonymous like/dislike process where the number of times you can like/dislike a post is unlimited, if more than 3 people say like or dislike a post you get an increase/decrease in reputation. That way postcount doesn't count, all users are unique & effectively you would land up with a forum / posting style that the majority liked.

I agree very very strongly. Fairly strongly - since I have obviously been playing the system. Thing is, I can't think of anything better. But there are certain posters who deserver to be top - DonkeyRhubarb for one - and I bet most cuk regulars don't even know who he is. NickFitz obviously. And EO for the Friday Stories......
